Job summary

Nordex North America is seeking a Grid Integration & Studies Engineer to support interconnection processes for North America. You will join the Global Nordex Engineering Grid Integration group to manage dynamic model analyses and compliance with reliability standards.

The role requires collaboration with stakeholders, experience with wind turbine generators, and the ability to travel up to 20%. A strong background in HV transmission and ISO interconnection codes is essential.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited Bachelors in electrical power engineering required.
PhD in Power Electronics is desirable.
5+ years of experience in renewable or transmission planning.
Experience with HV and transmission system planning.
Experience with dynamic model analysis software PSCAD, PSS/e, TSAT, DIgSILENT.
Knowledge of NERC reliability standards and North American ISOs.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
English language proficiency; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

Track ISO codes and requirements for reliability and interconnection.
Assess ISO grid code compliance for product portfolio.
Lead conversations with project stakeholders on data, interconnection, and commissioning.
Support project owner during interconnection, coordinating Global Engineering.
Run dynamic simulations (PSCAD, PSS/e, TSAT, DIgSILENT) and liaise with Grid Integration group.
