Job summary

Longroad Energy, based at the Canadian Hills Wind Project in Oklahoma, seeks an Assistant Operations Manager to help run a 132-turbine, 292 MW facility. You’ll support day-to-day operations, maintenance, budgeting, and safety programs while ensuring regulatory compliance and performance targets are met.

The role involves leading on-site contractors, managing budgets, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize turbine availability and site performance.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in operations and maintenance of a wind or energy facility.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Experience supporting budgets, cost control, and project or work-order management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work at heights and perform essential physical functions.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Proficient computer and office software skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 24/7 on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day operations and maintenance of wind turbines and related systems.
• Support O&M activities including substation, collection systems, and balance-of-plant work.
• Perform site inspections, document findings, and coordinate repairs via work orders.
• Develop and support cost-effective programs to improve reliability and performance.
• Lead on-site contractors and ensure safety and process compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
• Communicate with utilities, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Provide backup coverage for the Operations Manager as needed.
