Job summary

Nordex North America is seeking a Local Operations Manager to lead safe, efficient operations for a designated service area in the wind energy sector. You will oversee Service Technicians and Lead Technicians, drive operational excellence, ensure strong HSE performance, support customer satisfaction, and manage local financial results.

The role requires a 4-year degree or engineering background, plus 6+ years in wind energy and 3+ years in leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in wind energy or a related industry.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, workforce planning, or operational management experience.
• Fluent in English; willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead local service operations with emphasis on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Develop and mentor Service Technicians and Lead Technicians through onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure readiness for new wind farm sites and smooth handovers from construction to operations.
• Drive HSE compliance and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
• Manage local financial performance including P&L, budgets, CAPEX, and KPI management.
• Partner with customers to meet contractual commitments and maintain relationships.
• Monitor site performance and implement improvement plans to optimize operations.
• Coordinate resource planning, workforce capacity, equipment, and tooling requirements.
• Lead readiness activities for new service contracts and wind farm transitions.
• Support operational planning, scheduling, and prioritization of service activities.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and leadership visits to ensure safety and performance.
