Job summary

AES Corporation’s US Renewables & Power Development team seeks a Development Manager to lead wind project development across the Eastern United States, including NYISO and PJM regions.

You will drive strategy, budgets, schedules, and risk management, coordinating with interconnection, land, permitting, environmental, engineering, and stakeholder engagement teams. Travel ~30% and collaboration with senior leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of renewable energy development or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience leading complex projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of interconnection processes, permitting, and contracting.
• Familiarity with renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Ability to travel ~30% and work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead project development, including strategy, budgets, schedules, and risk management.
• Own development plans and guide crossfunctional teams to milestones.
• Identify and resolve risks across permitting, policy, commercial, technical, and environmental areas.
• Coordinate with partners and subject matter experts across disciplines.
• Facilitate meetings and drive decisions with stakeholders and leadership.
• Represent project interests in internal/external forums and regulatory proceedings.
• Oversee environmental studies, site surveys, due diligence, and reporting.
• Support contractor selection and interaction with regulatory authorities.
• Mentor junior team members and support business development activities.
