Job summary

EDP Renewables North America is seeking a Project Development Lead to drive utility-scale renewable energy projects from identification through financial close and start of construction. This role will focus on EDPR’s New York portfolio, including wind farms, solar parks, battery storage facilities and repowering of existing wind energy assets.

The candidate oversees permitting, land rights, and stakeholder engagement, and collaborates with internal teams and external contractors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or a related industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Communications, or related field.
• Understanding of Microsoft products; ArcGIS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Permit utility-scale wind farms and solar parks at local, state, and regional levels.
• Oversee the preparation of proposals for potential commercial off-takers.
• Obtain land rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain wind, solar and battery storage projects.
• Negotiate and establish local agreements addressing tax abatement, road use and decommissioning.
• Engage with stakeholders including officials, regulators, utilities, and communities to support project development.
• Monitor interconnection studies and participate in interconnection agreement negotiations.
• Develop project budgets and support financial analysis and modeling.
• Coordinate with Legal, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Investment Analysis and Energy Assessment teams.
