The position requires a High School diploma or GED, plus the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Training opportunities will be provided to cover WIC policies, procedures, and computer data entry.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Some medical office experience is helpful but not required.
• Must be organized and precise.
• Able to work effectively in a team with other WIC staff and supervisors.
• Willing to participate in training to screen WIC participants for eligibility, height/weight measures, finger-prick hemoglobin readings, scheduling, and other office tasks.
• Excellent telephone skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs full clerical/medical tasks as part of a clinic team.
• Enter routine data into a computer and maintain client schedules.
• Assist with eligibility determination, data entry, and documentation for WIC participants.
• Load eWIC benefits and schedule appointments as needed.
• Operate standard office equipment and handle routine mail and filing as assigned.
