Job summary

Mohave County Public Health – Nutrition & Health Division is hiring an Eligibility Technician for an office-based role that supports WIC by assisting participants in person, by phone, and virtually. You’ll screen applicants for program eligibility and guide families through key nutrition and health services.

This position offers a schedule with weekdays, potential after-holiday shifts, PTO, holidays, and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

Requires HS diploma and experience related to interviewing and eligibility determination.
Experience as Eligibility Technician or in social/case work helps.
Ability to handle personal/financial information confidentially and assess program eligibility.

Responsibilities

Counsels clients not in compliance and provides instructions to bring them into compliance.
Performs health and nutrition-related assessments (height/weight, blood pressure, finger poke).
Maintains charts, forms, and records of program activities and client status.
Provides nutrition education and counseling to clients and issues vouchers.
Determines food distribution and dietary care per data collected and regulations.
