The WIC Clerk role at Bellville, TX supports the WIC certification process and issuance of food benefits. Duties include answering phones, determining eligibility, recording diet recalls, measurements, and providing referrals while maintaining confidential

Qualifications

• One-year work experience, preferably in the health field.
• Ability to work with people of all socioeconomic levels.
• Preferred: bilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform WIC certification processes and issue food benefits.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and transfer participants as needed.
• Determine participant eligibility according to WIC policy.
• Record diet recalls, weigh/measure/graph, and test hemoglobin levels.
• Provide referrals and maintain confidential records.
• Support daily reports, nutrition education, and data transfers to the WIC State Agency.
• Promote breastfeeding and participate in outreach activities.
