Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in Wisconsin seeks a skilled supervisor to lead the whey department, coaching staff and planning daily plant operations to hit quality and throughput targets.

You will train hourly workers, enforce safety and sanitation standards, and drive continuous improvement in procedures to reduce waste and costs. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; some college credits or continuing education desired.
• 2–5 years of progressively responsible manufacturing or agriculture experience.
• 1–3 years of supervisory experience.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and people-development abilities.
• Continuing education annually, Wisconsin Pasteurization Certification within 1 year.
• HACCP Certification within 1 year.
• Sanitation chemical certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whey department employees and provide effective leadership.
• Plan and schedule daily whey plant operations for quality and output.
• Communicate and interact effectively with plant employees.
• Recommend changes to procedures to meet specs, reduce waste, cut costs.
• Train hourly employees in equipment operation and procedures.
• Promote safety programs to reduce incidents and near-misses.
• Promote food safety programs to ensure first-pass quality.
• Maintain time and production records as required.
• Direct production to ensure on-time delivery at lowest cost.
• Collaborate with management to uphold Saputo values.
• Ensure procedures maximize production efficiency and quality.
• Oversee policy enforcement and assist as needed.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary atmosphere with regard for food safety and environment.
• Understand Raw Whey Receiving, Lot code generation and ERP transfers.
