Job summary

GHD is seeking a Power & Utilities Client Manager for the US West to expand our presence with investor-owned utilities, public power, municipalities, and developers. You will lead strategic accounts, shape opportunities, and align GHD’s capabilities across transmission, distribution, grid modernization, energy storage, and advisory services.

This seller-doer role requires strong relationships, technical credibility, and proven business development across the utility sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; PE registration considered an asset.
• Experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with utility executives and stakeholders.
• Proven track record in growing strategic utility accounts and leading pursuits.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic accounts and growth plans for priority power and utility clients across the US West region.
• Build trusted relationships with utility executives, engineering leaders, operations personnel, project managers, contractors, developers, public agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Serve as a client-facing Power & Utilities SME with practical experience in electric utility infrastructure.
• Identify and advance opportunities related to transmission and distribution planning, substations, grid modernization, asset management, and reliability.
• Shape and pursue opportunities including DER integration, energy transition, grid modernization and smart utility initiatives.
• Position GHD for energy transition opportunities such as energy storage, renewable integration, and electrification.
• Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities tied to load growth, grid expansion, and permitting strategies.
• Lead or support business development activities including capture planning, teaming, proposals, and pursuit strategy.
• Translate client needs into executable scopes of work and delivery strategies.
• Coordinate with global teams to bring engineering, advisory, environmental, permitting, and program management capabilities to opportunities.
