Allianz Commercial seeks an experienced Surety Underwriter to lead expansion in the United States West Region. You will underwrite and grow a profitable surety portfolio while managing broker relationships and collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• College degree with emphasis in business, economics, or finance.
• 7+ years of industry experience within the surety field.
• Entrepreneurial mindset to set and achieve goals.
• Track record of developing business with brokers.
• Proven underwriting ability to grow a surety portfolio.
• Experience in marketing plans, business plans and budgets.
• Knowledge of surety distribution channels and broker relationships.
• Expertise in underwriting surety accounts and risks.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic US business plan, focusing on the West Region.
• Underwrite a profitable surety portfolio through broker relationships.
• Document decisions and recommendations clearly and consistently.
• Build and lead a regional underwriting team and key relationships.
• Conduct account and portfolio underwriting per guidelines and risk management.
• Collaborate with Americas and international teams to leverage capabilities.
• Coordinate with global Surety teams on risk and underwriting issues.
• Participate in industry groups and local surety events.
