Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a Contract Surety Underwriter for the Large Contract West Region to strengthen the portfolio and elevate client relationships. This market-facing role covers 13 Western States, with travel and autonomy to manage large accounts.

The role offers progression between Underwriting Specialist and Executive Underwriter levels, with robust opportunities in a collaborative culture and global backing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting/Market Facing area or 6+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with associate degree and related experience is acceptable.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines and time restraints for quotes on new/renewal business.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business for large contract surety.
• Build and maintain strategic broker and agency relationships.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Travel about 20% across the West region to manage portfolio and drive business development.
