Job summary

Facing History & Ourselves in Southern California is seeking a Sr. Director, Development, West to own and execute a regional fundraising plan aligned with executive leadership. You will lead a multi-state development program across individual giving, institutional giving, events, and donor engagement.

You will manage a four-member team, maintain a portfolio of high-value donors, and partner with advisory boards to advance priorities. Travel across California and the Western US is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit development and meeting revenue goals.
• 5+ years of team management experience.
• Experience leading in a matrixed organization.
• Fundraising strategy across multiple geographic markets.
• Leading an integrated development program across major gifts, individual giving, events, and operations.
• Track record of cultivating and closing 6+ figure gifts.
• Experience working with advisory boards to advance fundraising.
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly across California and the Western US.

Responsibilities

• Own the West region development plan to meet annual and multi-year revenue goals.
• Lead an integrated program across states and philanthropic markets.
• Drive performance in individual giving, institutional giving, events, donor engagement, and operations.
• Establish revenue forecasting, pipeline and portfolio management, and reporting.
• Translate national strategies into effective regional execution.
• Use data to evaluate results and maximize revenue.
