Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Wellness Coach Level II to build relationships with members and support wellness programs. You will monitor the wellness center, ensure safety, and guide participants through fitness and health initiatives with a strong emphasis on service quality.

You will engage in required trainings, maintain certifications, and collaborate with the Wellness Director to deliver high-impact programs in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of general weightlifting and health/wellness concepts and the ability to demonstrate use of wellness-related equipment.
• Must be knowledgeable about fitness-related issues including aerobic vs. anaerobic exercise, nutrition, injury-prevention, and The Coach Approach.
• Working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel and database management.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, to work independently, and to problem-solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility, including monitoring the wellness center floor and helping members as needed.
• Clean, maintain, and check equipment, reporting any repair needs.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate, and ensure wellness programs run smoothly with high service quality.
• Complete required trainings within specified timelines (Coach Approach, YUSA courses, BLS).
• Maintain incident/accident paperwork and report findings.
• Establish and maintain a minimum caseload of active members in The Coach Approach Program per schedule.
