Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in El Dorado, KS seeks a Welding Coordinator for the 2nd shift (4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Mon-Thu). You will provide welding training, certify staff, maintain records, and drive improvements across welding operations.

The role requires evaluating candidates, managing certifications, and ensuring compliance with GMAW, SAW, and plasma processes. The position reports to the Human Resources Manager; effective communication and safety leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years relevant experience or an Associate/Bachelor's in a related field.
• Experience with GMAW, plasma, SAW welding processes.
• Achieve AWS CWI/CWE/CWS within 2 years of eligibility.
• Strong MS Office skills and ability to create tracking matrices.
• Previous training experience and strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math and read measuring tools.
• Must maintain high safety awareness and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and training to weld staff per a curriculum.
• Evaluate welding candidates and maintain evaluation records.
• Maintain welding certifications and qualifications.
• Train on welding processes, safety, and measurement techniques.
• Perform SPC data gathering and analysis; assist with continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance of welding equipment and procedures; assist with audits.
• Support department safety and participate in daily staff meetings.
• Read blueprints and ensure proper assembly and inspection of welds.
