Job summary

Valmont in El Dorado, KS, seeks a Welding Coordinator for 2nd shift (4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Mon-Thu). You will train and certify weld staff, evaluate candidates, manage certifications, and support welding operations with data analysis for continuous improvement.

You will work with GMAW, SAW, and plasma welding, ensure safety, maintain records, and participate in root-cause analysis to advance manufacturing quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher with welding experience; multiple pathways to qualification.
• Experience with welding processes: GMAW, plasma, SAW.
• AWS/CWI/CWE/CWS accreditation within 2 years of eligibility.
• Strong communication and training experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math, and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and training to weld staff per curriculum.
• Evaluate welding candidates and maintain records.
• Maintain welding certifications and update records.
• Provide training on welding processes and equipment.
• Perform equipment calibration and ensure compliance.
• Assist with continuous improvement and welding operations.
• Perform SPC data gathering and analysis; spot audits.
