Job summary

Valmont Industries in El Dorado, Kansas is hiring for a Fitter Welder on the evening shift (4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Mon-Tue). The role combines fitting and welding steel, metal and aluminum components according to layouts, blueprints and work orders using a variety of welding equipment.

You will read blueprints, tack weld, use grinders and drills, operate overhead cranes, and produce high-quality welds with GMAW, FCAW or SAW.

Qualifications

• Read weld symbols and blueprints to determine welding requirements.
• Basic math and measurement skills for setup and quality checks.
• Ability to pass GMAW welding test and maintain certification.
• Experience with reading layouts and performing tack welds.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld steel, metal and aluminum components per layouts and blueprints.
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment; use grinders and drills as needed.
• Read and decipher blueprints; operate overhead cranes to move parts safely.
• Ensure safety, lean practices, and quality in a manufacturing environment.
