Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to join the team. You will perform welded build-ups on crusher parts using multiple processes and operate a range of cutting and welding equipment.

The role requires reading 2D/3D drawings, maintaining safety, and working outdoors under varied weather conditions. Responsibilities include ensuring quality control documentation, preheating pieces, and using a variety of tools and cranes.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Self-motivated with high accountability to operations.
• Strong mechanical background required.
• Ability to measure parts with tape measures and straight edges.
• Basic computer skills to report and transfer information.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety-first culture and high safety standards.
• Perform weld build up on crusher parts using various welding processes.
• Weld with FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, SAW.
• Use positioners and manipulators for large parts.
• Operate cutting tools including oxy-fuel, plasma, and CNC burn table.
• Inspect and repair cracks using penetrants and beveling.
• Utilize hydraulic rams to position pieces.
• Complete quality control documentation.
• Preheat pieces using rosebuds, torches, and induction heaters.
• Weld cast iron, manganese, and Cu-AL dissimilar metals.
• Interpret 2D, 3D drawings and weld symbols.
• Use ironworker, bandsaws, drills, come-a-longs, hoists, grinders, hammers, wedges.
• Complete task training on cranes and lifts within 90 days.
• Maintain 5S and clean workspace.
