Job summary

Martin Marietta in Salisbury, NC seeks an experienced welder to join our fabrication team. You will perform weld build up on crusher parts, using manual, semi-automatic and mechanized welding processes to support heavy equipment maintenance.

You will read 2D blueprints and 3D models, apply FCAW, GMAW, SMAW and SAW, operate cranes and hoists, and ensure quality control documentation. The role requires safety focus, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and outdoor work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding on crushers or similar heavy equipment.
• Ability to interpret weld symbols and blueprints.
• Proficiency with multiple welding processes and preheating.
• Commitment to safety and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safety-first culture on the team.
• Perform weld build up on crusher parts using manual, semi-automatic and mechanized welding.
• Utilize welding processes such as FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW.
• Operate positioners and manipulators for large workpieces.
• Perform cutting with oxyacetylene, plasma cutters, grinders and CNC burn table.
• Excavate cracks, repair cracks in steels with dye penetrant and beveling.
• Use hydraulic rams to position pieces as needed.
• Report damaged tools and tag out of service.
• Follow 5S to maintain a clean and safe workplace.
