Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a full-time Welder to repair, fabricate, and install components on waste containers and compactors at our Dayton shop. You will weld using MIG/ARC, operate plasma cutting tools, and fabricate steel components with precision.

The role requires safe handling of heavy materials and collaboration with customers and team members. Ideal candidates have MIG/ARC welding experience, a technical training background, and the ability to read work orders and safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MIG/ARC and stick welding is preferred.
• One year welding and cutting experience or completion/graduation from a technical training program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform sanding, grinding, cutting, torching, drilling, welding and other fabrication or repair work on containers, compactors, and assist with placement of equipment.
• Grind metal parts after welding.
• Weld steel using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components on containers.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter and various saws.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with standards.
• Complete required paperwork using computer systems.
• Install lids, wheels and lock setups on containers.
• Paint repaired and new containers.
• Assist with compactor installations as needed.
• Communicate with customers and coworkers to promote good relationships.
