Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Dayton, OH is seeking a skilled Welder to join our shop team. The position focuses on fabricating and repairing containers, compactors, and related equipment, using MIG and ARC welding.

You will work in a safety-conscious environment, perform cutting, grinding, and finishing tasks, operate shop tools and lifting devices, and support install projects. This role requires mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Welding experience with MIG/ARC is preferred.
• One year of welding and cutting experience or related technical training preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely.
• Knowledge of small shop tools and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication and repair on company and customer containers, compactors, and related equipment.
• Weld steel using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components on containers and perform cutting with plasma or saws.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Complete required paperwork using computer systems.
• Install lids, wheels and lock setups on containers and assist with compactor installations.
