Job summary

Zaddy Solutions is seeking a Welding Engineer to own welding processes in a precision manufacturing environment. You will develop repeatable joining methods, optimize procedures, and work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity and product performance.

Responsibilities include evaluating materials and joint designs, supporting qualification activities, investigating defects, and training production staff on approved methods and process controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and experience.
• Hands-on welding process development and troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems, work with production teams, and communicate corrective actions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, parameters, joint prep, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility and manufacturability.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and transfer of new products to production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while ensuring safe operations.
