Job summary

TEAM, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform quality control and code-compliance inspections on welded components and assemblies in field and shop environments.

The role demands deep knowledge of welding practices, inspection techniques, and documentation processes to support safety-critical operations. Responsibilities include visual inspections per AWS D1.1/ASME IX/API, reviewing WPS/PQR/WQTR, coordinating with NDT, and generating reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Technical Degree or Military Experience a Plus).
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check.
• Must be able to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials.
• Familiarity with code books and standards: AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, B31.3, API 1104, and others relevant to scope.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to generate accurate reports and interface with multi-level stakeholders.
• Ability to travel, work extended hours, and operate in field environments including confined spaces, elevated work areas, and extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual welding inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API codes, or project-specific criteria.
• Review welding procedures (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder qualification test records (WQTR).
• Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures, standards, and client specifications.
• Coordinate with NDT personnel to support additional testing requirements (UT, RT, MT, PT, etc.).
• Generate detailed inspection reports, weld maps, and deficiency logs as required by the project or client.
• Witness welder qualification tests and maintain compliance with welder continuity logs.
• Interface directly with client QA/QC personnel, fabricators, and engineers to resolve welding or quality-related issues.
• Adhere to TEAM’s Life Critical Expectations and all site-specific safety protocols.
• Uphold industry codes and TEAM’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and quality.
