Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of welding engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and material applications.
• Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy, material science, and failure analysis.
• Experience with welding codes, standards, and specifications (AWS, ASME, API).
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding procedures specifications (WPS) and welding procedure qualification records (PQR).
• Provide technical support and expertise for welding processes and equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize weldability and manufacturability.
• Manage welding projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
• Implement and maintain welding quality control systems and standards.
• Train and mentor welding technicians and other personnel on best practices.
• Evaluate new welding technologies and materials for potential application.
