Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an Assembler to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components. This role performs basic welding, fit-up and mechanical assembly, following drawings and procedures to produce enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies.

You will work on the shop floor, maintain safety, operate around overhead cranes (training provided), read blueprints, and collaborate with the team to meet daily production goals while ensuring quality.

Qualifications

• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
• Perform structural welding on enclosure components per drawings.
• Assemble panels and subassemblies, fit-up and install hardware.
• Operate overhead crane safely or coordinate lifting operations.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies.
• Set up and teardown welding/assembly stations.
• Inspect welds visually and report defects for rework.
• Support material movement and positioning on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production goals.
