Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an Assembler to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components in outdoor and shop environments. You will perform basic welding, fit-up and mechanical assembly to produce enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies while following drawings and procedures.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, prepping components, installing hardware, and supporting roofs, doors and sub-assemblies.

Qualifications

• 1+ years welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• 1+ years experience in structural fitting.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding.
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection).
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and procedures.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, fitting panels, installing hardware and prepping components for welding or final assembly.
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies (RDS) to support production flow and ensure dimensional and quality requirements.
• Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging.
