Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an Assembler to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components by performing basic welding, fit-up and mechanical assembly tasks. This role ensures the safe, efficient production of enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies.

You will read blueprints, follow work instructions, perform structural welding, install hardware, assist with rework, operate overhead cranes, and maintain a clean, safe work area while meeting daily production goals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in manufacturing.
• Able to read blueprints and use a tape measure.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components following drawings and procedures.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly and fit panels, install hardware, prep components for welding or final assembly.
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies to support production flow and meet dimensional/quality requirements.
• Support material movement using overhead cranes or rigging.
• Conduct visual weld checks, report defects and assist with rework.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
• Set up and teardown welding/assembly workstations.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
