Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, Louisiana, is looking for an Assembler to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components. The role involves basic welding, fit-up, and mechanical assembly to ensure safe and efficient production of enclosure frames, panels, and subassemblies.

You will read and follow drawings, use tape measures, and collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and PPE compliance in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection)
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained procedures
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels and installing hardware
• Read blueprints and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements
• Support production flow and ensure components meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Setup and teardown welding/assembly workstations
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals
