Job summary

Gulf Island in the United States seeks an Assembler to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components. Tasks include basic welding, fit-up, and mechanical assembly to produce enclosure frames, panels, and subassemblies.

You will read blueprints, follow procedures, and use overhead cranes to position parts while maintaining quality and safety. Prior experience with MIG welding is preferred; training provided for additional skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding.
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection).
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained procedures.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels and installing hardware.
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies to support production flow and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging (training provided).
• Conduct visual weld checks, report defects and assist with rework.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
• Setup and teardown welding/assembly workstations.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
