Job summary

Gulf Island Houma, Louisiana, United States is seeking an Assembler (Mechanical, Tacker) to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components. You will perform welding, basic mechanical assembly, fitting panels, and reading blueprints to meet dimensional and quality requirements.

This role involves working with overhead cranes, keeping a clean, safe workspace, and collaborating with team members to hit daily production goals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection)
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained procedures
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, installing hardware and prepping components for welding or final assembly
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies to support production flow and ensure components meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging
• Conduct visual weld checks, report defects and assist with rework
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements
• Setup and teardown welding / assembly workstations
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
