Job summary

Collins Aerospace in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a skilled welder to perform welding, soldering, and brazing on production and prototype parts, adhering to drawings and quality standards.

You will use shop tools and SAP, maintain equipment, follow safety and EHS guidelines, and support continuous improvement. HS Diploma or GED required; prior manufacturing weld experience preferred; onsite role with regular shifts.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS Diploma. In absence, 2 years of relevant experience may be required.
• Manufacturing weld experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs welding, soldering, and brazing on production and prototype parts.
• Welds parts that meet drawing expectations and uses shop tools and equipment.
• Maintains machine tools and welding equipment; conducts process inspections.
• Ensures quality while meeting production schedules and adheres to quality systems.
• Advises engineering on welding aspects of new units and fixtures.
• Participates in continuous improvement and safety guidelines.
