Collins Aerospace in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a manufacturing technician to learn and operate test stands, set up laser marker, and document production parameters. This onsite role emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team.

Candidates typically have a high school diploma (or GED) and may gain two years of relevant experience. Manufacturing experience and good manual dexterity are preferred as you contribute to assembly and calibration tasks.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS Diploma or GED; if not, 2 years of relevant experience may be required.
• Manufacturing background preferred with ability to read and interpret prints.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate test stands for nozzle, spray bars, and valves to ensure spray quality.
• Set up and operate laser marker and printer per procedures and specifications.
• Record spray parameters and certify product conformance through test results.
• Disassemble, repair, and assemble products as needed per specifications.
• Complete production documentation accurately and manage labor transitions.
• Support EHS, Quality, and CI rules and participate in safety and continuous improvement activities.
• Occasionally work overtime or extended shifts as business needs require.
• Maintain schedules; standard shift is Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
