Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Welder I for the day shift in Houston, TX. The role involves welding cable tray products, interpreting drawings, and maintaining safe, efficient production in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred), 6+ months welding experience, and the ability to read a tape measure. Overtime may be required, with safety and teamwork emphasized in daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Technical School Welding Certificate (preferred).
• 6+ months welding experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machines and perform setup/adjustments.
• Interpret drawings and fabricate based on blueprints.
• Fabricate per customer requirements adhering to specifications.
• Follow safe work practices and participate in Atkore's safety program.
• Cross-train in different shop areas as required.
• Use basic fabricating tools such as a tape measure.
• Maintain PPE and safety controls in all processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
