Job summary

Atkore is hiring a Welder I for the night shift in Houston, TX. The role involves welding cable tray products, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality per specs. Work is performed on-site in a manufacturing environment with safety protocols in place.

The ideal candidate has 6+ months welding experience, a high school diploma or GED, and may hold a welding certificate. Overtime may be required, and the shift runs 6:00pm–2:00am, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
• Technical School Welding Certificate (preferred).
• 6+ months welding experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to squat, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate welding machines in the department.
• Interpret drawings and fabricate based on blueprints.
• Fabricate per customer specifications while adhering to requirements.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in the safety program.
• Cross-train in different shop areas as required.
• Maintain safety controls and PPE during processes.
• All other duties as assigned.
