Job summary

Atkore is hiring a Welder Lead for the 2nd shift (4:00pm-12:30am) in Cartersville, GA. The role directs welding staff, sets up and runs welding machines, and interprets blueprints to fabricate aluminum cable trays per customer specifications.

You will participate in the safety program, cross-train across shop areas, and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled environment. Requires 3+ years welding and a HS diploma; technical welding certs are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years welding experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical School Welding Certificate (preferred).
• Ability to squat, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct and guide other welders in the department.
• Setup, adjust, and operate welding machines.
• Use basic fabrication tools such as a tape measure.
• Interpret drawings and fabricate from blueprints.
• Fabricate to customer specs.
• Participate in Atkore safety program.
• Cross-train in various shop areas.
• Follow safety controls and PPE requirements.
