Job Summary

Industrial Welders in a fabrication shop are responsible for joining metal components using various welding techniques. They play a crucial role in manufacturing a wide range of metal products.

Key Responsibilities

• Use various welding techniques to join metal components.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping in the area as needed.
• Wear safety glasses and hearing protection.
• Follow written and oral directions.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification preferred.

Experience

• Experience with GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW 3G Vertical welding processes.
• Experience with carbon and stainless steel.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
• Ability to work accurately and precisely.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations.

Work Location and Environment

• Location: Lakeland, FL
• The environment is in an industrial shop, often hot/humid, with exposure to moving equipment, machines, and safety hazards. Must be alert and able to perform duties safely.
• Must pass drug screening, physicals, and background checks. Mid-State is a drug-free workplace.

• Communication: Talk and hear to exchange information effectively.
• Stand/Sit: Able to stand for long periods.
• Walk: Frequently walk distances in the shop.
• Use Hands/Fingers: Handle materials, manipulate objects with steady control, quick movements.

• See: Various vision abilities including close/distance, color, peripheral, depth, focus.
• Lift/Carry: Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Exposure: Environments can be loud, dusty, hot, or cold.
