Job description

The Senior Welder will perform all welding on assemblies and components related to manufacturing power transformers. They will advise engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel on technical inquiries related to manufacturing processes used within Hyosung HICO. The role includes troubleshooting and providing manufacturing solutions, including tooling issues, machine setup, and investigating quality issues in assigned areas.

SUMMARY:

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

1. Performing welding duties and functions as required.
2. Performing weld repairs on incoming materials per NCR recommendations.
3. Setting up and verifying fixtures and templates, and laying out products for complex assemblies with tight tolerances using prints.
4. Clarifying and explaining complex technical drawings, mechanical prints, specifications, and bills of materials.
5. Determining operation sequences and methods when specifications are imprecise or vague.
6. Troubleshooting issues with materials, parts, prints, equipment, or products, and aiding in corrective actions.
7. Ensuring quality criteria are inspected, verified, and documented during manufacturing to meet specifications, tolerances, prints, and customer requirements, and correcting defects as needed.
8. Following standard work procedures and sequences of operations to meet quality and productivity standards.
9. Practicing 6S and adhering to safety rules and guidelines.
10. Operating material handling and lifting equipment safely, including cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and work platforms.
11. Assisting in training new employees and developing training materials.
12. Participating in troubleshooting and corrective actions.
13. Assisting other manufacturing areas as needed.
14. Understanding and following Hyosung HICO policies and procedures, including quality, safety, and environmental policies.
