Job Title: Manual Machinist - 1st Shift
SUMMARY: Makes and constructs a wide variety of close tolerance, high precision, and intricate complex tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures according to manufacturing and engineering standards with minimal supervision.
WAGE TYPE: Hourly
Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00
FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Builds and/or repairs tooling according to engineering or customer quality, dimensional, and tolerance specifications.
- Uses a variety of machines to produce products; performs all machine setup and machining operations.
- Performs highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing procedures.
- Develops designs and devises non-standard procedures for parts as required.
- Makes decisions regarding materials and supplies to be used, with input from Engineering and Production.
- Sketches designs as needed and performs mathematical calculations for the development process.
- Performs various machining operations requiring advanced fabrication techniques, tools, materials, and equipment knowledge.
- Provides input to the engineering department on tool design enhancements to improve quality, performance, and reduce costs.
- Supports manufacturing for tool repairs and modifications.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities.
- May come into contact with hazardous chemicals.
- Performs other tasks as required, aligning with Lincoln Industries' values.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
- Reports to: Engineering Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are required or preferred qualifications. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Education and Experience:
Post-high school education in tool and die or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of machine shop and metalworking experience, with a good working knowledge of machines, advanced shop math, and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Communication Skills:
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Other Skills:
- Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle practical problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Data entry skills.

Training as specified in the Learning Management System based on the role.
