Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Weld Process Intern in Tulsa, OK, for Summer 2027. The role supports a Welding Process Specialist, learning welding processes, applications, and technical sales methods while promoting safety and Airgas’ Growth initiatives.

The position offers field exposure, tools training, and opportunities to contribute to customer solutions and welding product literature. Travel within the territory is required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in welding engineering or a similar degree.
• Third or fourth year student preferred.
• Strong interest in welding processes and welding economics.
• Willingness to prepare for CWI and CWS exams.
• Strong math, problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication and teamwork.
• Proficient in Google Workspace apps (Gmail, Sheets, Docs).
• Ability to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Learning & Development: Gain in-depth technical knowledge of welding applications to assist in matching customer needs with Airgas products.
• Sales Support: Promote profitable sales of welding processes to small and midsize customers.
• Field Experience: Shadow specialists during customer site visits to observe current welding processes and identify Airgas solutions.
• Tool Proficiency: Use proprietary sales tools, such as Welding Surveys and Efficiency Analysis.
• Marketing Support: Provide customers with technical literature regarding shielding gases and welding products.
• Safety Advocacy: Maintain a safe work environment and promote safety standards.
