Job summary

KMVT in Twin Falls, Idaho is seeking a Weekend Meteorologist/MMJ who will be the trusted voice our community turns to for accurate forecasts and compelling weather stories. This role blends meteorology with multimedia journalism across TV, streaming and digital platforms.

You'll deliver daily weather casts, write and edit weather content, report live from events, and work with a photographer to produce stories on deadline for multiple platforms in a fast-paced newsroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology preferred.
• Generally 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts utilizing weather data and graphics.
• Prepare urgent weather updates interrupting regular programming when necessary.
• Produce weather materials for TV, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Report live from event sites or mobile broadcast unit.
• Write and produce weather stories for multiple media platforms.
• Gather and verify factual information through interviews and research.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
