Job summary

KIVI, an ABC affiliate of The E.W. Scripps Company in Boise, Idaho, seeks a Meteorologist to deliver accurate weather forecasts and engage viewers across TV, radio, streaming and digital platforms.

You’ll be a trusted voice informing the Treasure Valley about conditions and safety, with opportunities to report live and contribute across multiple media. The role requires a Bachelor's in meteorology or equivalent experience, with 5+ years preferred, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in meteorology preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• Generally 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts utilizing data and graphics.
• Deliver urgent weather updates interrupting regular programming as needed.
• Prepare weather materials for TV, radio, streaming and digital platforms.
• Evaluate potential new weather data gathering and presentation equipment.
• Gather information from weather leads and tips to develop story ideas.
• Report live from event sites or mobile broadcast units.
• May write and produce weather stories for multiple platforms on deadline.
