Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology preferred.
• Generally 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance with company-required limits.
• Computer literacy, including weather and newsroom computer systems.
• Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment.
• Knowledge of editing systems.
• Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills.
• Proficient at posting content to various websites.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts utilizing weather data and graphics.
• Deliver urgent weather updates interrupting regular programming as needed.
• Produce weather materials for TV, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Assist management in evaluating new weather data gathering/presentation tech.
• Develop story ideas from assignments or tips.
• Report live from events or mobile units.
• Write and produce news/weather stories for multiple platforms.
• Capture, edit, and publish stories for multiple outlets on deadline.
