Job summary

Majestic Care is seeking a Weekend Supervisor Nurse (RN) to oversee nursing staff on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in Goshen, IN. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality resident care, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring staffing aligns with census and budget requirements.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, holds an active RN license in Indiana, and has three years of nursing experience including at least one year in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• CPR certification preferred, but not required; must obtain if not current within 30 days of hire.
• Three years of nursing experience, including one year in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Hire, discipline, and evaluate care team members as needed.
• Plan and facilitate unit meetings to address resident care concerns.
• Manage the unit to achieve high-quality care.
• Develop and evaluate programs for recruitment, retention, development and education of nursing staff.
• Coordinate with physicians to ensure timely and appropriate interventions.
• Review staffing and census; reassign staff to meet resident needs and budgets.
• Monitor unit operations and patient conditions for safe, quality care.
• Ensure availability of medications, supplies, and medical records.
• Assist in orienting new staff and guiding care team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general management functions such as hiring, disciplining, and evaluating care team members.
• Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues/concerns for the unit.
• Manage area of responsibility with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.
• Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development, and continuing education of nursing staff members.
• Contact physicians as needed/necessary and ensure physician interventions are timely and appropriate.
• Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units and reassign personnel when necessary to ensure staffing meets resident needs and budgetary controls.
• Monitor the clinical operations of the unit and resident’s conditions and ensure that appropriate and quality care is administered.
• Obtain medications, supplies and medical records needed to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutic are to residents on a continuing basis.
• Assist in the orientation of new personnel, monitoring their skills and guides and observe care team members that may need assistance with procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred, but not required.
• Must hold an active CPR license or the ability to obtain within the first 30-days of employment. CPR license must be kept active and current throughout employment.
• Three years of nursing experience, of which one year in a long-term care environment.
