Job summary

Majestic Care of Terre Haute is seeking a Weekend Supervisor, RN to lead a nursing unit in a long-term care community. You will supervise care team members, participate in staff development, and coordinate with physicians to deliver high-quality resident care.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license in Indiana, and 3+ years of nursing experience (1+ year in LTC). CPR certification is preferred, with active CPR license obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• RN license in the state of employment (active, valid, in good standing).
• CPR certification preferred, but not required.
• Must obtain/maintain CPR license within 30 days of employment.
• Three years of nursing experience, with at least one year in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Direct the operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care community.
• Hire, discipline, and evaluate care team members.
• Plan and facilitate unit meetings to address resident care issues.
• Coordinate physician interventions and ensure timely care.
• Monitor staffing and census to meet resident needs and budget.

Position Overview

The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for directing the operation of a nursing unit in a long-term community.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general management functions such as hiring, disciplining, and evaluating care team members.

• Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues/concerns for the unit.

• Manage area of responsibility with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.

• Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development, and continuing education of nursing staff members.

• Contact physicians as needed/necessary and ensure physician interventions are timely and appropriate.

• Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units and reassign personnel when necessary to ensure staffing meets resident needs and budgetary controls.

• Monitor the clinical operations of the unit and resident’s conditions and ensure that appropriate and quality care is administered.

• Obtain medications, supplies and medical records needed to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutic are to residents on a continuing basis.

• Assist in the orientation of new personnel, monitoring their skills and guides and observe care team members that may need assistance with procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

• Licensed as an RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.

• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred, but not required.

• Must hold an active CPR license or the ability to obtain within the first 30-days of employment. CPR license must be kept active and current throughout employment.

• Three years of nursing experience, of which one year in a long-term care environment.
