Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Registered Nurse to support patient-centered care in a weekend shift role. You will work with diverse team members to assess, plan, and educate patients and families while following Mercy’s standards and procedures.

The role requires nursing assessment, intervention, and coordination with emphasis on safety, documentation, and collaborating with the healthcare team. BLS cert and Iowa/compact state license are expected.

Qualifications

• Sound background in basic nursing principles and procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to provide safe and effective basic nursing care.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and families during hand-offs.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate and clinically relevant information to patients, families, and co-workers during hand-offs.
• Assess, plan, intervene, coordinate, and evaluate based on the patient plan of care.
• Document nursing care in real time per hospital policy.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Promote patient safety and maintain a positive work environment.
