Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse for 7a-7p shifts with a weekend option on Saturdays and Sundays. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants, with two weekends off every six months.

You will assess, plan, and implement patient care, communicate across care teams, and educate patients and families while adhering to Mercy's standards of safety and compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training completed.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks as described in job posting.

Responsibilities

• Communicates accurate information at hand-offs and with patients and families.
• Performs assessment, planning, intervention, coordination, and evaluation of care.
• Maintains real-time documentation of nursing care per hospital policy.
• Directs other staff in provision of care and demonstrates age-appropriate communication.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and participates in education for patients and families.
