Endeavour Health’s Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist CRTT for weekend night shifts (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun, 7pm–7:30am). This full-time role may involve floating to Plainfield Hospital's Emergency Department as required, with a strong emphasis on patient care across age groups and family involvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory therapy granting eligibility to take exams given by the NBRC.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
• Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure is required.
• Current CPR certification issued by American Heart Association is required.
• Advanced knowledge of acid base balance, blood gas analysis and interpretation, and cardiopulmonary physiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform and guide all forms of respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics.
• Assess and treat patients from neonatal to geriatric, involving family in plan of care and education.
• Administer respiratory therapies and manage equipment with knowledge of indications and hazards.
• Provide advanced respiratory care using specialized equipment and maintain airway during CPR.
• Perform arterial punctures and blood gas analysis with quality control.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing and related calculations with quality controls.
• Explain procedures to patients and families and deliver home care instructions.
• Participate in continuing education within the department.
• Record patient assessments and coordinate with nurses and physicians to optimize care.
• Oversee Respiratory Therapy Techs as needed and maintain department equipment.
