Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a weekender role at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This full-time position covers a 36-hour week, with Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am.

Some travel to Plainfield Hospital may be required for the Emergency Department as needed. The role involves delivering diverse respiratory therapies, monitoring patients across all ages, and ensuring safe, evidence-based care in a Magnet-certified

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required.
• RRT or CRT, or registry eligible status is required.
• IL licensure within 6 months of employment is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS required within 24 months of employment.
• Knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis and cardiopulmonary physiology.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Manager of Respiratory Care and delivers respiratory therapies and related procedures.
• Assesses patients from neonatal to geriatric and involves family in care plans.
• Administers respiratory therapies, monitors equipment, and manages potential adverse reactions.
• Provides advanced respiratory care and maintains airway support as part of CPR when needed.
• Performs arterial blood gas collection and analysis, plus related quality control.
• Conducts pulmonary function testing and related calculations with quality control.
• Educates patients and families on treatments and home care instructions.
• Participates in ongoing department education and quality improvement.
• Maintains patient records and coordinates with nurses and physicians to optimize care.
• Supervises Respiratory Therapy Techs as needed.
