Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents, perform bedside therapies, and document progress with minimal supervision in a geriatric care setting.

Candidate must have a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, hold an active RRT or CRT license in the practice state, and maintain BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing (RRT or CRT).
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to support rehab patients with various respiratory and non-respiratory conditions.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheostomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs caseload tracking, auditing and related duties.
