Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Residential Coordinator for Saturdays and Sundays, 8am–4pm, in the Southern Region of Virginia. The role provides 24/7 awake coverage, handles front-desk operations, crisis response, and coordination with case managers to support client goals.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in human services, with strong communication and teamwork skills. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in human services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour awake coverage and supervision of the domestic violence shelter.
• Be the first point of contact for client needs and support; respond to crisis situations.
• Maintain the daily log and document client interactions and shelter events.
• Collaborate with case managers to support client service plans and progress.
• Accompany clients to court and appointments; assist with documentation and safety plans.
• Ensure shelter safety, building operations, and adherence to agency policies.
